I bought a home with a salt water pool in 2006 and soon realized the benefits over traditional chlorinated pools. On this website I'll discuss all the tips and tricks I've learned over the years. Salt Water Pool Chemistry

Recommended water chemistry for your salt water pool:

Salt:  2,700 ppm to 3,400 ppm

Free Chlorine:  1.0 to 3.0 ppm

pH:  7.2 to 7.8

Stabilizer:  60 ppm – 80 ppm (ideal)

Total Alkalinity (TA): 80 ppm to 120 ppm

Calcium hardness:  200 ppm to 400 ppm

Total Dissolved Solids: Less than 6,000 ppm
